Notion Press is a self-publishing company based in Triplicane, Chennai, India. The self-publisher launched free publishing in 2013.[1][2] The company focuses on developmental editing, typesetting, peer reviews, book’s layout designs, cover designs, and distribution.[3]

History

Notion Press was founded jointly by Naveen Valasakumar and his schoolmates Janarthanan and Bhargava[3] in January 1, 2012. The initial investment was 3.67 lakhs.[3]

Services

Notion Press uses its self-developed application user interface for typesetting books. As of May 2012, they were reliant on freelance proofreaders and copy editors.[3] For distribution of books, they have tie-ups with 500 dealers, mostly online retailers such as Flipkart and Amazon.[3]

Books & Reviews

Various kinds of books, including fiction and non-fiction have been published in Notion Press. According to the New Indian Express, the self-publishing company is "the first of its kind in India".[1]
