NxStage

NxStage Medical, Inc. is a publicly traded company (NASDAQ: NXTM) located in Lawrence, Massachusetts. It is a medical device company that develops, manufactures and markets systems for the treatment of end-stage renal disease, acute kidney failure and fluid overload.

In April 2002, IFS signed a contract with NxStage Medical, to provide IFS Applications(TM) business software to support the company's growing medical device business.[1]

In 2005, NxStage Medical received expanded 510(k) clearance from the FDA for its System One portable daily hemodialysis device. On Nov 2, 2005, NxStage Medical, Inc. received the Nixon Peabody/Smith & Nephew Medical Device Innovation Award in the Start-Up category from the Massachusetts Medical Device Industry Council (MassMEDIC).[2] It received an "honorable mention" in the Wall Street Journal's 2006 Technology Innovation Awards.On Nov 27, 2006, NxStage Medical, Inc. appointed Robert S. Brown as Chief Financial Officer effective immediately.[3]
