Oliver S. Powell

Oliver S. Powell was a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly.

Biography

Powell was born in Madrid, New York June 19, 1830. He was a farmer. Powell served in the Wisconsin State Assembly from 1870 to 1872 and was a Republican.[1]

He and his brother, Nathaniel, co-founded what is now River Falls, Wisconsin. Oliver owned a farm there and his brother built a sawmill there. Powell died on September 26, 1888 after being severely injured at the sawmill.[2]
