Owen Tippett (born February 16, 1999) is a Canadian ice hockey player currently playing with the Mississauga Steelheads of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL).

Playing career

Junior

Considered by scouts as the best pure natural goal scorer at his age group,[1] Tippett was drafted in the 1st round, 4th overall, in the 2015 OHL Priority Selection by the Mississauga Steelheads.

Tippett scored 15 goals and 5 assists in 48 games in his rookie OHL season, and was named to the OHL's First All-Rookie Team.[2]

Personal

He is the first cousin to Tampa Bay Lightning prospect Mitchell Stephens.[3]
