Patrick J. Stapleton III was a member of the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board, a position he held since Governor Tom Ridge appointed him to the Board in June 1997 until Oct. 6, 2011. He was reconfirmed by unanimous votes of the Pennsylvania Senate on May 10, 2000, May 17, 2004 and September 22, 2008. Stapleton served as chairman of the PLCB from January 2007 through October 2011. In addition, he was named chairman of the National Alcohol Beverage Control Association in May 2011. He is the son of Patrick J. Stapleton, Jr., a former Democratic member of the Pennsylvania State Senate. He attended University of Notre Dame and Tulane University School of Law before working as an assistant district attorney in Philadelphia in 1982.[1] He entered private legal practice in 1994 and was named a "Super Lawyer" by Philadelphia Magazine.[1]
