Peachy Printer
Peachy Printer was a 3D-printer proclaimed to be the first $100 3D printer.[1] It was to be controlled by a sound card and consisted of: a UV laser, mirror and use Photolithographic 3D printing technology.[2] Its September 2013 Kickstarter campaign reached over $650,000 Canadian dollars raised, which is over 1300% its original goal.[3]
In November 2014, Peachy Printer's Founder and CEO allegedly discovered that co-Founder and CFO David Boe had embezzled half the company's funds to build his house.[4] A year and a half later, on May 11, 2016, after laying off the company's workforce and missing rent payments, the CEO publicly disclosed the company's state of affairs via a Kickstarter update.[5]
