Pearson Fuels is a privately held alternative fuel retailer founded in the San Diego in 2003.[1] Pearson Fuels is notable as the first alternative fuel station in the United States to offer a comprehensive suite of alternate vehicle fuels including ethanol, biodiesel, compressed natural gas (CNG), propane, hydrogen, and electric vehicle charging.[2] Pearson Fuels is headquartered in San Diego.

History

Pearson Fuels was founded in 2003. In 2007, Pearson signed an agreement with the California Air Resources Board to develop Ethanol (E-85) fueling infrastructure throughout the state. Pearson currently has fuel dispensers in twelve different cities across California. Pearson Fuels has grown to become California’s largest independently owned ethanol distributor.[3]

Products

Pearson established the first ethanol station in the state of California, the first biodiesel station in San Diego, California, and the first dual pressure CNG station in the United States. In addition to electric vehicle charging, Pearson was the United States first propane vehicle fueling station, and was the first independent station in San Diego to offer ultra low sulphur diesel. Three grades of gasoline completed the offering for a total of ten different vehicle fuels. This was the first time a fueling station offering ten different fuels had ever been built.[4]
