Piñata Records is an independent record label based in Minneapolis, Minnesota founded in August 2012. Since August 2014, the label's releases are distributed worldwide by Darla Records.[2]

Piñata Records was named Best Local Record Label by City Pages in April 2015.[3]

History

Piñata Records was founded by four members of neo-soul/rock group Southside Desire as a label for releasing the band's material as well as that of other Twin Cities-based bands. The first release on the label was Southside Desire's debut album Songs to Love and Die To.[4]
