Pierre Pay-Pay wa Syakasighe

Pierre Pay-Pay wa Syakasighe (born 10 July 1946) is a politician from the Zaire, best known as a former governor of the central bank, the Banque Centrale du Congo from 1985 to 1991. He served in various governmental positions during the 1980s and 1990s before going into exile in 1997. Upon returning to the country in 2002, he was appointed to the transitional National Assembly representing the unarmed political opposition.

He was nominated by his party, Federalist Christian Democracy-Convention of Federalists for Christian Democracy (DCF-COFEDEC), to run as its presidential candidate in elections held in July 2006. He was considered one of incumbent Joseph Kabila's closest competitors but Pay-Pay came seventh, receiving about 1% of the vote.
