Pima Elementary School (Scottsdale, Arizona)

Coordinates: 33°29′19″N 111°53′57″W / 33.488567°N 111.899239°W / 33.488567; -111.899239 Pima Elementary is a school located in Scottsdale, Arizona 1 1/2 miles east of Downtown Scottsdale. Like the rest of the schools in Scottsdale, Pima is in the Scottsdale Unified School District. As an excelling school on the state of Arizona's AZ LEARNS scale,[1] Pima is winner of the Blue Ribbon Award.[2]

History

Pima opened as a school in 1959.[3] Since then, many renovations have taken place at the school, while it still, in some areas, shows its age.

Location

Like every school in the district, Pima serves a two mile (in most extremes) boundary. Pima serves the areas from Scottsdale Road to Pima Road. The school also serves neighborhoods between Indian School Road, and McDowell Road. Located halfway between these boundary on Osborn Road, the Pima boundary is bordered by the Hohokam and Yavapai boundary to the south, and the Navajo boundary to the north.[4] Pima is located in Scottsdale, 3 1/2 miles from nearby Tempe.
