Piprites is a genus of bird traditionally placed in the Pipridae family, although it remains unclear if this is correct. The IUCN and Clements have it traditionally placed in Pipridae, while the IOC have it placed in the Tyrannidae. It is considered incertae sedis by authorities such as SACC and NACC.[1] It contains the following species:
