Popular Union of Equatorial Guinea

The Popular Union of Equatorial Guinea (Spanish: Unión Popular de Guinea Ecuatorial) is a political party in the Equatorial Guinea. It is led by Daniel Martinez Ayecaba.[1] It is currently one of many opposition parties in the country banned by the ruling party, the Democratic Party of Equatorial Guinea, the ruling party since 1979.

Despite being an illegal party, the UP's candidate, Archivaldo Montelo Biribé gained 0.34% of the country's vote in the 2009 Equatoguinean presidential election.
