Public transport in Veliko Tarnovo

The public transport in the town was created when the town grow after the urbanization in the middle of the 50s. The first line in Veliko Tarnovo was between the old part of the town and the new part of the tow.The first bus station for connecting the town with other towns were built in the 30s in the South part of the town near to the train station and the Main roads Sofia-Varna and Rousse-Stara Zagora.

Autobus transport

The first public busin the town were Hansa-Lloyd delivered in 1939.The bus start to serve the first bus line.This line had around 14 stops.It starts from the train stop Trapezitza in the old part-Charevetz hill-Old Post-Old theater -neighborhood Marno pole-fire service-villa of Nikola Petkov-fountain Katchica

Trolleybus transport

The project was supported by the town government and the Bulgarian government for a four line trolleybus system. The infrastructure was started in 1991 at the Summer Theater in town. In 1992 additional lines were installed for two trolleybus lines which will be in service only in the new part of the town. It was realized that two lines were enough and the project stopped. The cars used on the system were ZIU-9. The number of the vehicles were 15.
