The Recorder of Deeds Building is an historic building located at 515 D Street N.W. Washington, D.C.

History

It was built between 1940 and 1943.[1] There are many murals decorating the inside, produced by WPA artists. It was designed by Nathan C. Wyeth.[2]

In 2010, the Recorder of Deeds, moved out, to be replaced by the Chief Financial Officer.[3]

In 2011, there was some flooding that closed the building.[4] There was an attempt to gain landmark status.[5]
