Rishi Prakash Tyagi

Rishi Prakash Tyagi became the first senior police officer in India to be convicted of first degree murder of two individuals in police custody and was sentenced to death in 2006.[1]

However, in March 2008 the High Court commuted the penalty to eight years' imprisonment.[2]
