The Roman Catholic Diocese of Ostrava-Opava (Latin: Ostravien(sis)-Opavien(sis) ) is a diocese located in the cities of Ostrava and Opava in the Ecclesiastical province of Olomouc in the Czech Republic.

History

Before 1978 the territory was part of the Diocese of Wroclaw which, for the most time, comprised all Silesia.
1978: The territory is part of the Archdiocese of Olomouc.
May 30, 1996: Established as Diocese of Ostrava – Opava from the Archdiocese of Olomouc which remains the metropolitan for the region.
