Life and career

Early life and Education

Rytasha was born in Singapore in 1993 to Vipulroy Rathod, a notable gastroenterologist [3] and Purnima Rathod. She has an older sister Natashja Rathore [4] who is a film director and producer. The family moved to Mumbai in the year 2000. Rytasha did her schooling at Cathedral and John Connon School, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Acting from LASALLE College of the Arts in 2014.[5]

She has trained under and worked alongside several notable Indian theatre personalities such as the likes of Sankar Venkateswaran, Rajat Kapoor, Faezeh Jalali, Vinay Pathak, Vikram Kapadia, and Akash Khurana

Career

Rytasha started her career in Theatre in Mumbai in 2014 with two Aadyam plays, The Hound of the Baskervilles and The Merchant of Venice. She's also a part of the ensemble in the play 07/07/07 which went on to win the award for Best Ensemble Cast at the Mahindra Excellence in Theatre Awards. Rytasha also appeared in Rajat Kapoor's clown adaptation of Shakespeare's As You Like It.[6]

Being a theatre artist and having grown up in South Mumbai, Rytasha was initially very apprehensive to do a television soap but eventually caved in because playing a rural Haryanvi girl presented a challenge for her as an actor.[7] Although her character on screen portrays a meek rural bride, Rytasha is the complete opposite in real life.[8]
