STFA Group is one of Turkey’s conglomerates providing services in the construction, natural gas distribution, construction equipment and construction chemicals.

Founded in 1938 by pioneering contractors Sezai Türkeş and Feyzi Akkaya, STFA is a recognized leader in the construction industry in Turkey, with operations in the country and abroad. STFA's mission is to sustain its position as a leading construction group in the MENA region, with the vision of developing innovative engineering solutions and services. STFA has experience in 24 countries and a total contract value over US$25 billion.

Overview

Construction Group

The STFA Construction Group alone has a turnover of US$700 Million per annum. It maintains a leading role in the construction industry, with operations in the Middle East and North Africa. Its international operations to date include significant and high-impact international projects in Libya (1972), Saudi Arabia (1978), Egypt (1981), Iran (1983), Tunisia (1984), Pakistan (1992), Oman and Qatar (2000).

STFA is the first Turkish contracting firm to be awarded an overseas project in Libya followed by Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Egypt, Iran, Tunisia, Pakistan and India. STFA Construction Group's completed projects include Marine Works such as Container Terminals, Commercial and Naval Harbours, Water Intake and Outfalls, LNG Terminals, Bridges, Dams, Highways, Tunnels, Railways, Hydraulic Structures, Water and Wastewater Transmission Lines, Residential Buildings and Overhead Transmission Lines, Foundation Engineering, Project Management and Engineering and Consultancy.

STFA has evolved into a total engineering and construction solutions company with independent business units specialising in the construction of marine structures, highways, bridges, tunnels, oil-gas-power plants, power transmission lines, deep foundations, residential-commercial-industrial buildings, water and sewage treatment plants, urban infrastructure, engineering and construction management services.

Construction Equipment

SIF Construction Equipment Marketing Ltd, a subsidiary of STFA, is the largest construction equipment dealer in Turkey and the sole dealer for JCB for Turkey since 1974. SIF has sales offices and service stations in major cities of Turkey and is looking for opportunities to expand its reach to the international market.

Energy Distribution

STFA is a shareholder in Enerya Gas, Electricity and Water Distribution Company, a key developer in Turkey which has established eleven gas distribution concessions with the purpose of building, operating, and transferring city-wide gas distribution networks in twelve cities in Turkey. The concessions, all of which are green field projects, extend over a period of 30 years.

Education Foundations

STFA is the founder of three foundations for supporting education in Turkey. İnanç Vakfı (İnanç Foundation), Feyzi Akkaya Eğitim Vakfı (Feyzi Akkaya Education Foundation), and Bilimsel ve Teknik Yayınları Çeviri Vakfı (Foundation for Translation of Scientific and Technical Publications). Founded in 1992 as a non-profit with a mission to translate valuable foreign publications into Turkish, the Foundation for Translation of Scientific and Technical Publications became Khan Academy's (a leading international online learning platform) first international core partner in 2012.[1] Khan Academy Türkçe was launched in 2013 with a mission to improve equal opportunities for all in Turkish education, as a corporate social responsibility project to celebrate STFA Group's 75th anniversary. Khan Academy has delivered over 5 million free online lessons in Turkish.[2]
