Salaam bin Said Al Shaksy

The Honorable Salaam Said Al Shaksy (born 1961) is a member of the Council of State of Oman (Majlis al-Dawla)[1] where he serves as deputy head of the Economic Committee,[2] and the CEO of alizz islamic bank.[3] Al Shaksy is also currently the Chairman of Oman’s Investment Stabilization Fund, Chairman of The Shaksy Group, member of the Board of Directors; member of the Board of Executive Committee and Chairman of the Tender Committee of Al Rafd Fund (Oman’s Government funded SME fund); and a Board member & Chairman of the Audit Committee of Oman Oil Company and an Advisory Council Member in the Sultan Qaboos University (SQU’s) College of Economics & Political Science.

Al Shaksy has had over 25 years of experience in finance, investments, treasury management, credit administration and financial control. Prior to Alizz, Al Shaksy served as Chief Executive Officer of National Bank of Oman between 2010 and 2014, leading its turnaround and transformation during this period. Al Shaksy also held the positions of CEO of Dubai Banking Group,[4] a subsidiary of Dubai Group, and CEO of Dubai Bank.[5] Al Shaksy's previous positions also include Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Bank Dhofar, Sultanate of Oman, where he led its merger with Majan International Bank in 2002,[6] head of a group comprising three divisions; retail banking, investment banking and correspondent banking at the National Bank of Oman, and Head of Business Planning and Analysis for Citibank Global Consumer Business, United Arab Emirates.[7]

He has served in the past as the Chairman of the Board of ONIC Holding, Vice Chairman of Muscat Securities Market board,[8] Vice Chairman of Shell Oman Marketing board,[9] a board member of Bank Islam,[10] Bank Muscat,[11] Alliance Housing Bank, Dubai First.[12] He is a board member of The Shaksy Group.[13] Winner of Banker of the Year 2008,[14] Al Shaksy is also a sought after keynote speaker at global financial conferences.

Al Shaksy is a graduate of Northfield Mount Hermon School, which he attended before matriculating at Boston University, United States, where he received a bachelor's degree in Economics, a Masters in Management Information Systems and an MBA in Management of Financial Services.[7] He has also completed the Senior Executive Program London Business School.[7]
