Salman Saeed (born 30 March 1991) is a serial entrepreneur, public speaker,[1] digital evangelist[2] and internet personality. Saeed is best known for his blogging skills,[3] website monetization and his volunteer work in nurturing the entrepreneurial culture in Pakistan. He is the co-founder of a blog known as Gagism which was sold to an Australian firm.[4] Currently, apart from developing branding strategies for clients at Rockefeller Innovations, he speaks at entrepreneurship events, training startups for growth hacking, managing a Google Business Group for Google, Community building for AngelHack[5] in Pakistan and Curating TEDx events. Currently, he is also acting as the Ambassador for AngelHack in Pakistan and apart from all of these activities, he is running his online publishing ventures and a technology based blog under the name of Menabyte[6] focused on Middle East region.

Early life and background

Saeed was born in Swabi, Pakistan but he spent his childhood in Saudi Arabia, homeschooled by his father, along with his brothers. He shifted to Islamabad in 2001 and completed his high school from OPF Boys College Islamabad. He graduated in GCE Ordinary Level and Advanced Level from University of Cambridge. Subsequently, he studied Association of Chartered Certified Accountancy.

Career

Saeed started a technology blog under the name of 'Technileaks',[7] which was followed by a blog related to Designing & Photography which was named as 'Demortalz'.[8] During this time, he also wrote for websites including Hongkiat[9][10] and 1stWebDesigner[11][12] The stats on his design blog made him realize the power of Social Media Marketing and he started a comic blog called Gagism. It attracted a large audience in a very short time and six months later was sold to an Australian firm for around USD 100,000.[13]

Saeed started a development agency, Rockefeller Innovation LLC, in April 2012.,[14] He is responsible for maintaining client relationships and managing the team.

Social Entrepreneurship

During his blogging career, Saeed admired TED's idea of Ideas Worth Spreading and he became a TEDx Curator.[15] He started a new chapter under the name of 'TEDxRawalLake' and the first event was organised on 27 June 2012.[16][17]

In 2015, Saeed was invited by World Bank[18] as a part of the foreign delegates[19] for Digital Youth Summit[20] to train and inspire young people from KPK, Pakistan.

In 2015, Saeed helped AngelHack in organising a Hackathon in NewYork University at Abu Dhabi and became the AngelHack Ambassador[21] for Pakistan.
