Sanlam Challenge Shield
The Sanlam Challenge Shield is a Rugby challenge held between Saracens Rugby union and South African opponents. The challenge main objective is to provide stiff preseason warm-up for both participating teams. The Sanlam Challenge shield would be the trophy for the winner of the challenge.
The first challenge was held between the Sharks and Saracens. Overall the Sanlam Challenge was held 3 times and only the Blue Bulls managed to beat the Saracens.
