Serenade for Strings (Kalinnikov)

The Serenade for Strings in G minor is a composition for strings by Vasily Kalinnikov. He wrote the serenade in 1891. The composition was first published by Muzgiz in 1950.[1]

Structure and instrumentation

The composition, which is scored for a string orchestra composed of violins, violas, cellos and double basses, consists of a single movement marked Andantino.

Average performance time is between eight and ten minutes.
