Shaikh Zayed Medical Complex Lahore

Shaikh Zayed Medical Complex, Lahore (SZMC) is one of the premier medical institutions in the Pakistan. This is the first facility offering liver transplant in Pakistan.[1][2]

History

Started as a donation from Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and people of United Arab Emirates. It was commissioned on 8 September 1986, comprising

The hospital had 360 beds at the time of commissioning. In 2004, there were 713. Today, there are 1050. All the departments are recognized by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan[3] for FCPS training.

After devolution to Eighteenth Ammendment in Consitution of Pakistan it has been devolved to Province of Punjab, Pakistan.

Administration

Dr. Farid Ahmad Khan[5] is currently serving as Chairman & Dean of Shaikh Zayed Medical Complex Lahore.[6]
