Shaka Mobile is a US-based wireless and mobile financial services provider using the Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) business model. Shaka Mobile launched a pilot program in May 2010, and is the first mobile services company to offer tailored products and services to Diaspora Africans in the United States. Through its strategic partnership, Shaka Mobile uses the Sprint and Verizon networks and has a nationwide coverage footprint.

Products and services

Being an ethnic focused MVNO, Shaka Mobile aims to provide its customers with products and services that meet specific needs of its target segment which are not being immediately met by other service offerings in the market. Products and services include, low cost International Long Distance (ILD) calling to customers home countries, low cost International Mobile Money Transfer and Airtime Top Up [1] .[2]
