Sir John Kennaway, 1st Baronet

Sir John Kennaway, 1st baronet (6 March 1758 – 1 January 1836), was a British soldier and diplomat.

Kennaway served in the Carnatic, 1780–86. He was created a baronet in 1791 for his successful mission to Hyderabad in 1788, where he became first resident. He concluded a treaty with Tipu Sultan in 1792.[1]
