Siti Aisyah We Tenriolle

Siti Aisyah We Tenriolle was the Queen ("Datu") of the Kingdom of Tenatte (now Bone), South Sulawesi from 1855-1910.[1]


She died in 1919, in the village of Pancana Tanette ri Lau.[2] She helped to emancipate the women leaders from the tribe of Bugis, Tanete Sand South Sulawesi, Indonesia while serving as queen.[2] Siti Aishah Tenriolle also controlled the Kingdom of Bugis.[3] A major contribution of Siti Aishah We Tenriolle was translating the epic piece La Galigo from the ancient Bugis language.[4] Her birth date is unknown.[2]
