Skip School, Start Fights is the second studio album from the American pop punk band Hit the Lights.

Background

On June 28, 2007, it was announced that vocalist Colin Ross had left the group. Ross explained that he "decided I would like to take a different direction with my life and not live this lifestyle any longer." The band intended to continue and find a new vocalist.[1]

Demo versions of the songs "Drop the Girl", "Stay Out", and "Don't Wait" were released on the internet before the album's release featuring Colin Ross before he left the band. It is unknown if Ross demoed other songs for the record.

Recording

It was mixed by Zack Odom and Kenneth Mount (Mayday Parade, All Time Low, Cartel). This is the first release with their new vocalist, Nick Thompson, who previously played guitar and provide backing vocals. The album features guest vocals from Alex Gaskarth of All Time Low on the song "Don't Wait" and Shane Henderson of Valencia on the song "Drop the Girl".

Release

Skip School, Start Fights released on July 8, 2008 through Triple Crown.
