Skyguard Ltd (founded in 2000) is a UK based lone worker protection provider.[1]

History

Skyguard’s service was originally intended for use by Police forces to protect domestic abuse victims, potential kidnap targets and those on witness protection schemes. Due to market evolution, it became clear that a similar level of protection was required to safeguard lone workers thus becoming Skyguard’s core market today.[2]

In 2009, Skyguard developed its own Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) to manage emergency calls on a daily basis, becoming the first of its kind to receive the lone worker monitoring service standard (BS 8484).[3][4][5]

In 2010, Jan Murray purchased Skyguard Ltd encompassing it under the Send for Help Group, owned by Murray’s investment vehicle Nebula Associates Ltd.[6]

Accreditation

Skyguard has been accredited to various British industry related standards through their safety service provision, including:[7]

All of Skyguard’s employees are externally screened to the standard and Criminal Record Bureau (CRB) checked BS 7984:2008 The British Standard for key holding and response services, covering Skyguard’s National Response Service

Secured by Design The Police Preferred Specification product design scheme awarded to Skyguard’s MySOS device which guarantees national Police approval of their use. Skyguard’s Alarm Receiving Centre was also the first facility to have been audited to the ‘ARC for Lone Workers’ product category [8]
