Sohail Warraich is a prominent Pakistani journalist, television host, analyst and media personality. Warraich currently host Ek Din Geo k Sath on Geo News on every Saturday and Sunday. He used to share his expert opinions on a talk show Meray Mutabiq along with host Maria Memon, now the program's host is changed.

Background

Warraich was born on May 23, 1961.[1] He belongs to Waraich clan of the Jat community.

Career

Warraich holds a master's degree in political sciences. He has been affiliated with GEO TV since its inception and had started his career in journalism through print media in 1990. He is one of the most popular host of the GEO TV Programes aik Din GEO kay sath, an interview based on lifestyles of celebrities. He also hosted Left Right, a political talk show posing right-wing and left-wing political arguments. Warraich supports left wing. Currently he comes on a programme Meray Mutabiq every Sunday, an opinionated interview/talk show based on Warraich's analytical views on current issues along with Hassan Nisar and Iftikhar Ahmad.[2] He ran an election bus during 2013 election and interviewed several contestant and voters[3]

Publications

He is also author of two books 'ghaddar koun'[4] and 'qatil kaun'.[5] In this book Ghaddar Kaun (Who is Traitor) Sohail Warraich, writes about the facts that lead to the coup d'état of 1999 and after maths of the occasions happened on October 12, 1999. Former Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif revealed many facts about his life and political career. Moreover, Sohail Warraich completed it after almost three years. This book cover the entire life of Mian Nawaz Sharif, the current Prime Minister of Pakistan.

Influence

Warraich is known for his direct and blunt questioning style and sarcastic speaking tone and humour. His tag line 'Kia yeh khula tazzad nhi' is very famous among the comedians and have been repeated in several shows. He has conducted interviews with a number of high-profile personalities and political figures. He has been regarded as the most decent journalist in Pakistan due to his simplicity.
