Sphinx Club (New York)

The Sphinx Club was a gentlemen's club in New York, United States. It was established in 1896, mainly for men in the advertising business, and primarily for dining.[1]

Joel Erhardt (1838–1909), a politician, civil servant, lawyer and businessman, was a member of the club.[2]

In 1913, Reginald Walter Macan, Master of University College, Oxford, visited New York and spoke at the Sphinx Club about Rhodes Scholars at Oxford University.[3]
