St. Joseph's Senior Secondary School(Hindi:सेंट जोसेफ सीनियर सेकेंडरी स्कूल) is a secondary school in General St., Jajmau, Kanpur, India. The school is situated near the banks of the river Ganges on General St. in Defence Colony. The school started in 1965 with a few sections catering to primary level students. The school is managed by nuns.

According to school census 2010 there were 2500 children in the school including Kindergarten students.

Clasess

There are now 12 grades and two sections at the kindergarten level. Each grade has three sections with 60-80 students. The school follows the CBSE education system which is followed by most schools in North India.

History

The school was established in 1965. In the early eighties, the school undertook a major expansion including construction of two new wings with additional classrooms and rooms.

Features

The school has sports teachers/coaches for sports including cricket, basketball, football and field hockey. There is a Literary Activities Hall, Computer Labs and library.

Students

Most of the students are from the local community including Lal Bangla, JK Colony, Jajmau, Defence colony, HAL (Hindustan Aeronautics Limited) Township, and Indian Air Force families. Some students come from the city and cantonment area.
