The St. Louis County Economic Council serves as St. Louis County, Missouri’s economic development agency. Part public entity and part private sector, the Economic Council drives growth and prosperity in the most economically important county in Missouri.

As the only economic development agency in the State of Missouri to hold the esteemed Accredited Economic Development Organization from the International Economic Development Council, the Economic Council provides a broad range of services through its six divisions – more than most other economic development agencies.

During its more than 25 year tenure, St. Louis County Economic Council has grown to provide a broader range of services than most agencies of its kind. With divisions that support small business success, attract and retain corporations, increase the region’s international reach, and revitalize municipalities, today’s Economic Council is a key facilitator of regional growth for businesses and communities within St. Louis County and the metropolitan area.

Business Development Attracts, retains and expands businesses in St. Louis County using a variety of assistance methods including site selection, financial incentives and tax abatements; compliance efforts with matters such as licensing, permits and code-enforcement issues; government liaison assistance; and workforce development.

Business Finance Offers conventional, alternative or combined financing solutions for working capital and fixed assets.

Economic Development Collaborative Brings communities and stakeholders together to create a more economically viable region, and works across political boundaries to establish a link for shared resources and improved communication.

Real Estate & Community Development Targets abandoned or under-utilized sites and works to return them to productive use through project management and technical support services for real estate development and community revitalization including land assemblage, Brownfield remediation and infrastructure improvements.

St. Louis Enterprise Centers Supports the launching of startup businesses and the expansion of existing companies with affordable office space, shared support services, access to expert mentors, and networking opportunities.

World Trade Center Saint Louis Guides and prepares businesses for international success with research services, seminars, networking events, trade missions, and training programs.
