Students' Union of Obafemi Awolowo University

The Students’ union of Obafemi Awolowo University governs student affairs at the institution.

It was involved in the July 10, 1999 Obafemi Awolowo University massacre, when members of the Black Axe Confraternity murdered the secretary-general of the students' union, George Iwilade, and several other student activists.

It is a member of the National Association of Nigerian Students

The union is known for defending students rights around Africa. On11 March 2010, the union led by the president (Alaje A. Paul) participated in a protest in F.C.T. Abuja. This was in defense of sections S144 and 145 of the constitution.
