Submergence is an upcoming American-French-Spanish romantic thriller film directed by Wim Wenders, based on the novel of same name. The film stars Alicia Vikander and James McAvoy.

Cast

Production

In November 2015, Alicia Vikander, and James McAvoy joined the cast of the film, with Wim Wenders directing the film, from a screenplay by Erin Dignam, based upon the novel by J.M Ledgard.[1][2] In January 2016, Embankment Films came on board to handle the international sales for the film.[3] In April 2016, Celyn Jones and Darian Martin joined the cast of the film.[4]

Filming

Principal photography on the film began on April 12, 2016, in France, Germany, Spain, the Faroe Islands and Djibouti.[5][6]

Release

In May 2016, Mars Distribution and Antena 3 acquired distribution rights in France and Spain respectively.[7]
