Sue Yeomans (born March 16, 1953) is a British Masters track and field athlete, known for pole vault, though she has expanded into other jumping events, particularly the high jump.^[1] She beat on countback 2009 IAAF Athlete of the Year, Rita Hanscom for the gold medal in the 2015 World Masters Athletics Championships W60 Pole Vault in Lyon, France with both athletes clearing 2.70 m (8 ft 10 ¹⁄₄ in).^[2][3] It was Yeomans' fourth World Championship in the Pole Vault. Hanscom has been her rival in most of her competitions. Yeomans was defending her title from the 2013 World Championships, held in Porto Alegre, Brazil while Hanscom was still in a younger age division.^[4] That year Yeomans ran the table winning World Championships in the W60 Pole Vault, High Jump, Long Jump and Triple Jump. Earlier in 2013, she almost accomplished the same thing at the World Masters Games in Turin, Italy, missing only in the High Jump where she took third.^[5] She took the silver medal in the Pole Vault behind Hanscom in the 2009 World Championships and behind Kay Glynn in 2011. She had won the Pole Vault in 2005 in San Sebastián, Spain^[6] and 2003 in Carolina, Puerto Rico.^[7] In Lyon, she also took the silver medal in the high jump behind Hansom.^[8]

With the same age advantage, Yeomans won the Pole Vault at the 2014 World Indoor Masters Championships in Budapest, Hungary, repeating the situation from 2004 when she won in Sindelfingen, Germany. In 2006, both Yeomans and Hanscom finished behind Ute Ritte, whose husband, world record holder, Wolfgang was winning the Men's division in Linz, Austria. She had been second to Hanscom in 2010 in Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada.^[9] At both World indoors, she also picked up a bronze medal in the Long Jump.

Yeoman has won the European Veterans Athletics Championships in the Pole Vault in 2006, 2010, 2012 and 2014, with silver medals in the Long Jump pan High Jump in 2014.^[1] And she has won the European Indoor Championships in the Pole Vault in 2011, 2013, 2015 and 2016, with a silver medal in 2009 along with a silver in the High Jump in 2015 along with a bronze in the Long Jump.^[1]

She has won the British Masters Athletic Federation (BMAF) Championship in her age group many times.^[1]
