Surimyia is a genus of hoverflies, with twoknown species. They are small (4– to 5-mm) microdontine flies.[2] Surimyia is the only hoverfly genus with the katatergum lacking microtrichia. In the subfamily Microdontinae, they are distinctive in the absence of pilosity on the postpronotum.[1]
Biology
Larvae are unknown, but probably feed as scavengers in the nest of the ants.
Distribution
They are only know from Suriname.[1][2]
