Thangamayil Jewellery Limited (TMJL) is a publicly listed Indian jewellery retailer based out of Madurai.[7] Thangamayil Jewellery primarily sells gold, silver, diamonds and platinum jewellery. The company’s flagship store is located in Madurai and is selling jewellery with BIS hallmarking license since 2001.[8] Thangamayil Jewellery sources its jewellery from other Indian states such as Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Kerala and West Bengal.[9] The company also retails its products via its online store.[10]

History

Thangamayil was originally established in 1947 as Balu Jewellery in Madurai. It became a private limited company in 2000.[11] In 2008 Thangamayil purchased Balsam Silvers to expand its business.[12] In January 2010, Thangamayil Jewellery held its initial public offering (IPO) for Rs. 28.75 crore.[13][14][15]
