The Gantocks Rocks and Navigation Beacon


The Gantocks Rocks lie off Dunoon in the Firth of Clyde, the navigation beacon on the rocks was constructed in c1886. The beacon is 44 feet in height.[1][2]

The MV Akka was lost, after running onto the Gantocks Rocks on 9 April 1956.[3] The PS Waverley ran aground on the rocks on 15 July 1977, with 600 passengers on board.[4][5]
