The Hangnail

The Hangnail is a 1999 animated short film made by Shane Acker for Spike and Mike's Sick and Twisted Festival of Animation. To date, it is Acker's only traditionally animated film. The short was distributed worldwide by AtomFilms.

Plot

As of a day in the city, a dog encounters a teenage boy eating some corn chips. It begs for some corn chips from him. However, a teenage boy slaps a dog away from him, sending him off flying to crash into a pile of garbage. Dog pulls a bottle off from its left eight, and growls at teenage boy in anger. Mockingly, a teenage boy chuckles, and then he licks the finger off his salt from his corn chips, only to discover that he now has a hangnail on index finger. He tries to bite himself off his hangnail from his index finger. However, he accidentally rips himself off his skin from his arm, exposing his arm muscles. In its act for his vengeance, a dog rips a teenage boy off his skin from the rest of his entire body, exposing his body muscles. The film ends with a teenage boy screaming in pain.
