The people are the heroes now

"The people are the heroes now" is a song by librettist Alice Goodman and composer John Adams from the opera Nixon in China. The song is sung in act 1 of the opera by a Chinese military chorus. The lyrics of the song make reference to the biblical creature Behemoth pulling the plow of the peasants, as well as "fields white with harvest and mountains rising red beneath the harvest moon."[1]
