Tholene

Tholene was a mentholated lip balm made by the Rosebud Perfume Company of Woodsboro, Maryland. It is notable for its distinctive packaging (empty tins are considered collectible). Today it's sold as "Smith's Rosebud Salve." It was created by druggist, G.F. Smith, who perfected Rosebud Salve.

Rosebud Salve was formulated by a druggist …Dr.G.F. Smith in 1892 and it's been a staple in the cosmetic business ever since.
