Thomas Oberhofer

Dr. Thomas Oberhofer (born December 14, 1964) is an Italian Orthopedic surgeon and Masters track and field athlete, known for running hurdles.[1] He won the 2015 World Masters Athletics Championships M50 100 metres hurdles in Lyon, France.[2][3] He set the Italian masters record at 14.15 +1.8[4] and became the #2 European all-time in the process.[5] See the Video on YouTube In 2006 he was the bronze medalist in the 60 metres hurdles at the World Indoor Masters Championships in Linz, Austria.[6]

Earlier in 2015, he finished third at the European Indoor Championships in Torun. His race in the finals was poorer than during the semi-final round where he set the Italian record at 8.68.[7] Representing the Südtirol Team Club he won the Italian National Indoor Championships in 2014.[8]

In 2011, Dr. Oberhofer led a developmental assistance team to northwestern Cameroon, where the first hip replacement and arthroscopoc knee surgery in the region was performed.[9] In 2013 he wrote The New Back Booklet instructions for patients with back problems.[10]
