Tickmill is a UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and Financial Services Authority (FSA) regulated global securities broker focusing on FX, precious metals, indices, commodities, and CFD's. The company serves both institutional and retail clients from all over the world.[1] Tickmill also provides webinars[2] and other educational materials,[3] as well as offers its clients various reward systems[4] and partnership model, e.g. "introducing broker" program.[5]

History

Tickmill was established in Mahe, Seychelles in August 2014 by its current shareholders. In January 2015, the company started providing retail brokerage services.[6] According to the previous CEO Sudhanshu Agarwal, Tickmill was built by traders for traders, and its mission is to provide the best possible trading environment so that clients can focus on trading and become successful in the field.[7] Tickmill started its CFD operations in March 2015, which covered stock indices for Germany, Japan, Europe, the United Kingdom and the United States.[8] The company's trading instruments include 64 currency pairs and precious metals.[9]

In June 2015, Tickmill announced the launch of its renewed "introducing broker" program.[10]

In August 2015, the company introduced VIP accounts as well as added HK50 index to meet the demand of Asian clients.[11]

In 2015, Tickmill joined forces with BeeksFX to provide its traders with a reliable low latency VPS solution.[12]

In March 2016, Tickmill introduced a new partnership model – Multi Account Manager (MAM), which helps professional money managers trade on behalf of their clients. The company also launched Islamic accounts that are 100% compliant with the Sharia law.[13]

In July 2016, the company had a reached a trading volume record of $49.1 billion (USD). With the CEO Sudhanshu Agarwal commenting: "Our record-high trading volume in the first month of summer is the result of our drive to build an outstanding trading infrastructure and back it with the best-in-class trading experience for all clients. Traders understand that Tickmill wants them to succeed and guarantee them top-tier trading conditions."[14]

In the same month, Tickmill improved and redesigned its home page to be more customer-friendly. The company says the new website has been revamped with both client and internal team feedback incorporated during the development cycle, meant to provide supreme online trading experience for traders both on desktop and mobile.[15]

Currently, Tickmill is rated as one of the TOP3 best brokers in the industry.[16]

In November, 2016, Tickmill obtained a license from the UK regulator the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) for its UK entity, Tmill UK Limited. With the FCA authorization, Tickmill is set to expand its reach to the UK and Europe.[17] The company hired Duncan Anderson as the CEO of Tickmill UK.[18] With extensive experience in financial industry, Anderson held various management positions in different exchange market-related companies.[18]

Platform and accounts

Tickmill uses MetaTrader 4 (MT4) as its Forex trading platform, which allows processing of 20,000 orders per second.[19] MetaTrader 4 is available for Windows iOS[20] and Android[21] devices. In July 2015, Tickmill also introduced a native MT4 application for Mac users.[22] The Company also provides AutoTrade (copy-trade platform) solution. It allows copying trades from different systems and adds them to the Tickmill's users MetaTrader 4 account.

Tickmill offers both a demo and live accounts to its clients.[23] There are three basic types of live accounts: Classic, ECN Pro, and VIP.[23]

Introducing broker (IB) program

Tickmill provides an Introducing Broker (IB) Program, which allows individuals and organisations to earn commissions by introducing new clients to the company's trading service.[5] Tickmill's IB program is not limited to companies or individuals, every trade generated by a referral will bring profit to the IB who introduced the business. The Client Area and IB Room are located in the same environment.[5]

Tickmill is the trading name of Tmill UK Limited, which is authorised and regulated by the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) with registration no. 717270. Tickmill is also the trading name of Tickmill Ltd, regulated by the FSA of Seychelles with the license No. SD008.

Funds are held with Barclays, HSBC, UBS, CITI and the other leading banks.[29]
