Timothy LeBron "Tim" Benford (born September 7, 1989) is a former American football wide receiver who played in the National Football League for the Dallas Cowboys and Pittsburgh Steelers. He played college football at Tennessee Tech.

College

Benford played his college ball with the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles. College statistics include 216 receptions for 3,097 yards and 26 touchdowns. He received all-Conference honors three years in a row, and played in the 2012 East–West Shrine Game.[1]

Professional career

Dallas Cowboys

He was signed by Dallas Cowboys as an undrafted free agent after the 2012 NFL Draft. He was released before the season started and was allocated to the team's practice squad. He was signed to the active roster on December 31, 2012.

After being waived on September 2, 2013, he was signed to the practice squad. He was signed to a reserve/future contract on December 30, 2014. The Cowboys waived Benford on August 27, 2014, and re-signed him to the practice squad.[2] He was released on October 7.

Pittsburgh Steelers

On December 30, 2014, he was signed by the Pittsburgh Steelers to the team's practice squad. On January 1, 2015, he was placed on the injured reserve list.[3]

Personal

Benford was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee to Tim Lloyd and Karen Davis. His major in college was Interdisciplinary Studies.
