Tony Ward (Arabic: طوني ورد, born March 27, 1970 in Beirut, Lebanon) is a Lebanese-Italian fashion designer.

Early life

Tony Ward was born the son of dressmaker Elie Ward in Beirut. At the age of 18, he enrolled in the Ecole de la Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne in Paris, France.[1] He drew gowns at fashion houses Lanvin and Dior[2] then for Karl Lagerfeld at Chloé.[3] After this work experience in Paris, Tony Ward launched his own brand Tony Ward Couture. With the craftsmanship of his family Atelier, he creates Couture and Ready to Wear Collections that are sold worldwide.

Career

After seven years of work experience in Paris, Tony Ward came back to his home country and launched his own couture line in 1997,[4] for which he was awarded 1st prize at a design competition and his drawing was exhibited at the Musée Galliéra (The Fashion Museum of the city of Paris).

In 2004, Tony Ward started presenting his Couture Fashion Shows in Rome. Since the first Collection entitled “Eden”, he gained attention in the Italian and International press, high society and celebrities. He was named Fashion Designer of the Year at the “L’Ago D’Oro” (Golden Needle) awards. By 2007, Tony Ward Couture Collections had attracted VIP from all around the world. The increasing demand for his creations lead to the opening of a showroom in Moscow. In 2008, the brand translated into a Ready-to-wear line.

Three years later, in 2011, the Lebanese designer entered the Ready-to-wear Bridal market.

In 2013, his collection “Frozen Memories” appeared in Moscow at The Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. The models were the Beauty Queens participating in the Miss Universe 2013 Pageant and walked down the Runway wearing Tony Ward Couture creations.[5] [6][7][8] After showing his Collections for ten years during the Italian Fashion week in Rome, he chose to present in Paris starting from 2014.[2][9][10]
