Tuhare Lakes Trail

Tuhare Lakes Trail is in the northern Sawatch Range, part of the Rocky Mountains in the U.S. state of Colorado. It is located in the Holy Cross Wilderness southeast of Mount of the Holy Cross in Eagle County. Tuhare Lakes Trail is south of Interstate 70, west of Highway 24, south of Minturn, southwest of Vail and south of Beaver Creek Resort, Colorado. Tuhare Lakes Trail is accessible from the north along Fall Creek Trail at Half Moon Campground on Tigiwon Road. Alternatively, Tuhare Lakes Trail can be reached from the south on Gold Park Road and Holy Cross City Jeep Road to Hunky Dory Trail and over Fall Creek Pass to Lake Constantine, where Tuhare Lakes Trail meets Fall Creek Trail. Tuhare Lakes Trail makes a steep ascent from Lake Constantine beside a series of waterfalls that drop east from Lower Tuhare Lake at approximately 12,200 feet. Along the northwest shore of Lower Tuhare Lake, a lightly traveled path continues to Upper Tuhare Lake, four and a half miles from the Fall Creek Trailhead, at an elevation of 12,400 feet. Hiking Colorado: Holy Cross Wilderness, a hiking guide by Kim Fenske, provides a description of Tuhare Lakes Trail.
