Uncle Tetsu's Cheesecake

An Uncle Tetsu's Cheesecake

Uncle Tetsu's Cheesecake is a cheesecake store that originally began in Oyafukou Street in Hakata[1] in 1990. The idea came from two men called Shuntaro Kurakake and Tetsushi Mizokami (the namesake for Uncle Tetsu).

Outlets

There are currently over 45 outlets around Japan and 8 outlets in Taiwan. The most recent store opened in Sydney in 2016.[2]

Design space

The outlets are known for their warm, red and white interiors plus open space kitchens which allow customers to see the desserts being made.

Limitations

Because the cheesecakes are so popular, cheesecakes are limited to one per buyer[3] There is limited oven capacity and it makes the line shorter.[4]
