Underground Airlines is a 2016 novel by Ben Winters. It takes place in an alternate United States where slavery is still legal in the "Hard Four" southern states.[1][2]

The book debuted on the New York Times hardcover best-seller list at #20,[3] and was ranked #11 on the Indie Bestsellers list.[4]
