Upper Defsko Lake (Albanian: Liqeni i Epërm i Defskos; Serbian: Горње Дефско језеро, Gornje Defsko jezero) is a mountain lake situated in the Šar Mountains at an elevation of 2,130 m (6,988 ft) above sea level in Kosovo.[lower-alpha 1] A small stream originates from Upper Defsko Lake and flows south to join with the Radika river.

  1. 1 2 Kosovo is the subject of a territorial dispute between the Republic of Kosovo and the Republic of Serbia. The Republic of Kosovo unilaterally declared independence on 17 February 2008, but Serbia continues to claim it as part of its own sovereign territory.
