Veiholmen is a fishing village located on a group of tiny islands in the northern part of Smøla Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. The island is located at the end of a 7-kilometre (4.3 mi) long road from the village of Hopen. The road goes over many islands connecting Veiholmen to the island of Smøla to the south.[2] Haugjegla Lighthouse is located about 1 kilometre (0.62 mi) north of Veiholmen on a small skerry.

Its population in 2003 was 325,[3] but since 2004 it is no longer considered an urban settlement by Statistics Norway, and its data is therefore not recorded separately.[4]

Veiholmen is a very popular place for tourist in the spring, summer and autumn. The population grows from around 300 people in the winter to more than 2000 people during the peak summer season. The island has several tourist attraction as the Haugjegla Lighthouse, the old fisher village itself, several museums and very good fishing opportunities.

During the year you can attend several concerts and other cultural events on several scenes with Havkroa (link below) as one of them. Havkroa also administers the Haugjegla Lighthouse which you can rent for your accommodation and enjoy the wild Atlantic Ocean.
